You’ve tried everything from sheer willpower, to nicotine gum and patches, even hypnosis, and you’re still smoking. Now there’s finally real hope to stop smoking for good, from a new treatment that actually kills your craving to smoke. It’s called Soft Laser Therapy. Not the type of laser that burns, this stop smoking laser treatment gently targets the acupuncture meridians, or special areas of your body that are associated with the desire to smoke. This makes your body release chemicals called endorphins, natural substances that have a calming, relaxing effect on your body and help reduce nicotine cravings and withdrawal symptoms.

The laser therapy also increases the body’s ability to detoxify the nicotine and move it out of your body, so it can no longer cause those troublesome cravings. The endorphins are also said to replace nicotine in the nicotine receptors of the brain, which prevents them from restarting the cycle of cigarette craving.

Relaxing? Calming? Those are two words no one would ever associate with trying to quit smoking! But they’re two words that DO indicate how very successful a stop smoking laser treatment can be. Treatments are completely pain-free, and last, on the average, just 20-30 minutes. Additionally, most laser treatment centers offer counseling along with the stop smoking laser treatment, in order to bolster and enhance its effects.

But do they really work? Practitioners of the laser treatments claim a success rate above 85 percent. While to date there has been no viable research to support these claims, it has become one of the fasting growing options chosen for those who want to quite smoking.

So what’s the cost for all this? The cost runs anywhere from $200.00 to as much as $350.00 per treatment. And keep in mind that, because it is not considered a medical treatment, it is not covered by insurance. But for the chance to be free of that nagging desire to smoke? Priceless.

There are fewer places to smoke these days than ever before. If arguments about stinky clothes, guilt of hurting others with your second-hand smoke, or threats of heart attack, emphysema, or cancer, don’t encourage you to try to quit, then, maybe the inconvenience eventually will? Although, smokers contend that underlying depression, nervousness, or stress causes their habit.

Those who have finally had enough, and seriously try to quit, find it is the most difficult thing they’ve ever tried to do. Frustrated, they resume the habit because “nothing worked.” They don’t think about the brief time, when they weren’t smoking, when their sense of smell returned, their blood pressure dropped, they regained more motor coordination, and they could breathe easier and had more stamina, without coughing or feeling fatigued!

When quitting “cold turkey” doesn’t work; when patches, gum, and hypnosis fail; stop smoking laser might be a successful and relatively inexpensive alternative. Stop smoking laser is a 40-year-old treatment in Europe. Its been used in Canada for almost 20 years. It’s a relatively new method of curbing the smoking habit in the U.S. (used since 2001). Europe claims a 90% success rate.

Any treatment you choose should be accompanied with education, training, and intervention consultations. However, the soft, low-impact, stop smoking laser is no more invasive than a compact disc laser, and is purported by patients to relieve stress and control urges to overeat as well as to smoke. Laser light beams are targeted to median, arms, hands, wrists, and ear areas. The stop smoking laser process is similar to acupuncture, except it is painless. In fact, patients have claimed the stop smoking laser is relaxing.

Stop smoking laser has side effects, much like any other treatment. Drowsiness or light-headedness may result, so driving immediately afterwards is not advised.

The stop smoking laser is all-natural. So, if you’re currently taking prescription meds, the treatment should not affect you any differently than anyone not taking medication(s).

It’s reported (by LaserCare) that one 30-minute treatment is generally all that’s needed. However, it is important the patient learns through the additional consultation how to handle the habit and reduce stress. It isn’t the actual treatment that takes the time. It is the consultation to learn how to handle the physical and psychological aspects of the habit.

The stop smoking laser treatment is typically under $450, and some insurance plans will help pay for it.

The laser treatment to stop smoking cravings has finally reached the United States. Europe and Canada have been enjoying about a 90 percent success rate with these natural treatments for over 30 years.

This revolutionary treatment is painless, inexpensive, and typically eliminates cravings after one treatment. The laser is used on the side of the patient’s nose and on his hands, wrists, arms, and ears. The only reported side-effect is lightheadedness, which diminishes almost immediately after treatment.

This new laser treatment to stop smoking works with acupuncture points in the body. A pulsating, low-level laser beam is applied to these acupuncture points, resulting in endorphins being released into the body. The cravings go away and are replaced by a general sense of well being. A similar treatment has been used for weight loss.

Some patients report that their insurance companies will cover the laser treatment to stop smoking; however, the treatment only costs about $300 t0 $400.

In addition to the laser treatment to stop smoking, patients should be counseled by their health care provider to determine physical and emotional conditions associated with the cravings of nicotine addiction. The laser therapists also provide strategies to help the patient deal with stressful situations and possible future urges to smoke.

Some clinics refer to the therapy as “cold laser therapy” to ensure to patients that there is no discomfort associated with the heat of a laser.

Clinical trials are currently underway through the FDA to determine the true effectiveness of this treatment. To date, the laser treatment to stop smoking has had no interactions with drugs a patient is taking and is considered a natural remedy for nicotine addiction. The laser used in this treatment has been approved by the FDA.

News stories and commentary on this laser treatment to stop smoking have recently been featured on Fox News and the Rachael Ray Show.
